The rapper’s latest collaboration with New Balance calls back to his time growing up in the Pacific Northwest.
The pride of Portland, Amine, has spent the last couple of years building his partnership with New Balance. After several steady collaborations, Amine and New Balance are connecting for their first effort on a New Balance Made in USA sneaker. That sneaker is the incomparable New Balance 992.
“Learning to love the outdoors was essential to the childhood of all Oregonians and especially me. Outdoor School helped me and so many others discover the beauties of the natural world and make so many friends/memories in the process. The wood cookie feels like home and the true Oregonian membership card,” explained Amine on Instagram where he revealed the collaboration this morning.
The 992’s resurgence has been welcomed by fans. Amine’s colorblocking of choice will surely make this collaboration a must have for a fall rotation, too. As the partnership between the rapper and New Balance continues, it is clear that both parties are interested in telling the stories of the Pacific Northwest in ways only a native could.
