The tasteful sneaker is a s love letter to New York’s pastry culture.
Inspired by the Italian pastry shops and old-school bakeries that have become fixtures of New York, the collaboration looks to one of the city’s most recognizable treats: the cannoli. Classic, nostalgic, and deeply tied to the neighborhoods surrounding it, the pastry becomes the foundation for a Samba that translates the colors, textures, and character of the bakery counter into design.

Warm wheat tones reference the cannoli’s golden shell, while deep chocolate details nod to chocolate chips, and hits of pink introduce an unexpected sweetness reminiscent of the colorful pastry counters found throughout the city. A removable cannoli charm brings the inspiration directly onto the shoe, while an illustrated cannoli footbed continues the story inside.
Designed to be reinterpreted by the person wearing it, the sneaker features three interchangeable Velcro tongue options, each corresponding to a color found throughout the shoe, with the option to remove the tongue entirely. Three different lace options create even more combinations, allowing each wearer to continuously reinterpret the silhouette through their own personal style.
But the collaboration goes beyond what’s behind the bakery glass. At its core, the adidas x Asphalt Samba is also a celebration of the individuality found on New York’s streets, where different neighborhoods, backgrounds, personalities, and approaches to style exist side by side.To further celebrate that individuality, only 600 pairs of the adidas x Asphalt Samba will be available, with each pair individually numbered from 1 through 600, turning every pair into its own piece of the story.
The adidas x Asphalt Samba will release at all Asphalt locations and online beginning at 10 AM EST on September 25th, priced at $130 and available in sizes 4-13, including half sizes.
