DIOS, the Houston-based streetwear imprint, is reconnecting with adidas Originals to giddy up the Megaride 01. This will mark the latest chapter in the ever-evolving partnership between adidas and Le$ and Jorgey’s streetwear brand. Last go around, they tackled the iconic Superstar. This latest project, though, brings their unapologetically Texan style onto the Megaride 01.
DIOS’ reinterpretation of the Megaride builds on the idea of the modern cowboy. It explores the new expression of Texas identity, shaped by things like car culture, a trip to downtown, and even horseback riding. Just like the Megaride is versatile as a footwear option, DIOS’ reinterpretation celebrates the ability of Texans to move between these worlds.
The sneaker is dressed predominantly in a deep black leather upper. It features stunning details in polished chrome, worn leather, and even cowboy boot-reminiscent embossed leather. All in the name of representing the modern cowboy. All the while, pushing DIOS’s mentality, “do it for yourself.” The idea isn’t to blend with the pack, but to find your own path through DIOS’ reinterpretation of the Megaride 01.
To celebrate the launch, adidas and DIOS will bring the collaboration home to Houston with a local activation on Saturday, August 15th from 7:00-10:00 PM CT, located at 5011 Navigation Blvd, Houston, TX 77011. The event will bring together the greater Houston community to experience the DIOS Megaride 01 firsthand, creating a moment rooted in the Texas spirit that helped inspire the collaboration.
Whether you’re a cowboy of the concrete or on horseback, the DIOS Megaride 01 is built to ride your way. The adidas Originals x DIOS Megaride 01 will release on August 16th for $180, available exclusively on CONFIRMED and at select retailers.
