Nothing hits like that Carolina Blue.
Back in 2006, Jordan Brand launched a colorway of the Air Jordan 14 inspired by Jordan’s time at North Carolina.
Of course, this wasn’t the first Air Jordan sneaker inspired by UNC, but the UNC 14 comes from the time when Jordan Brand began to experiment with retro releases.
Though it was not part of the 1999 non-OG retro releases, the UNC 14 dropped at a time when Jordan Brand began to get creative with their retros. Frankly, this was a great time for the Air Jordan 14- when beloved colorways like the Pine Green also dropped around this period.

Now, just as the NCAA tournament has kicked off, Jordan Brand is bringing back the UNC 14.
The release coincides with the 20th anniversary of the original release. This year’s retro does not miss an opportunity to deliver.

The 2026 retro features plush suede, chrome hits, and the eye-popping University Blue that Air Jordan Brands know and love. The sneaker even features the iconic Jordan Brand box that features a render of Michael Jordan’s face.
The UNC Air Jordan 14’s return is a breath of fresh air. Twenty years was a long time of absence for this beloved Jordan retro. It looks, as well, that Jordan Brand is gearing up to return more 2000s Air Jordan 14 colorways. This pair is simply rolling out the University Blue carpet.
The Black and University Blue Air Jordan 14 launches via Nike and participating Air Jordan Brand retailers tomorrow, Saturday, March 21st.
