Not a stranger to getting into the spirit of the holidays, Jordan Brand has something up its sleeve this week. Ahead of the Halloween season, the Jumpman is blessing fans with a playful spin on the Air Jordan 5.
The sneaker features some familiar Air Jordan 5 tropes. The black upper is made of a classic black nubuck that is so familiar to the lineage of the sneaker. The Halloween Air Jordan 5 also has some fun with the patented shark teeth design, giving the fan-favorite design a Picante Red hue that is complemented by black speckles that match the upper. The sneaker gets bold from here. And we mean that literally.
Yeah, the outsole glows in the dark, because of course it does. But the shoe doesn’t stop there, though.
The glow-in-the-dark details extend to the shoe’s iconic “23” stitching on the heel, as well as the “Nike Air” branding on the back and the Jumpman logo on the sneaker’s tongue. The sneaker is able to successfully blend the iconic nature of the Air Jordan 5 with the playfulness of the Halloween holiday. It does a lot; I mean, the Nike Air logo glows in the dark after all, all the while remaining a pretty wearable option in your rotation.
Perhaps the best news of all, though, is the fact that the sneaker will be launching in time for your Halloween activities on the 31st. Whether you are choosing to style on the neighborhood kids during trick-or-treating or are looking to aura farm at a haunted house, the choice is up to you.
Regardless, the Air Jordan 5 “Halloween” launches this Saturday, October 17th, via Nike and participating Jordan Brand retailers like JD Sports.
