Houston’s footy culture is getting the love it deserves.

adidas and The Better Generation, the Houston-based lifestyle boutique and cultural hub, have partnered with celebrated creative Andu on the “Grassroots” Predator Sala collaboration.  The release explores the intersection of culture, fashion, community, and global connectivity.

Inspired by the idea that meaningful growth begins at the local level, “Grassroots” reflects the shared values of creativity, ambition, and self-expression that unite communities across borders. Drawing from Houston’s rich cultural diversity and Andu’s global perspective, the project celebrates how people from different backgrounds, cities, and experiences can be connected through a common language of style, storytelling, and Fútbol.

The design itself serves as a visual representation of Houston’s connectivity. Contrast stitching across the upper mirrors the longitude and latitude lines of a globe, creating a network that links cultures, communities, and ideas around the world. The layered color palette references the journey of growth, beginning with earthy tones that symbolize the grit, struggle, and foundation of any creative pursuit before evolving into vibrant green suede that represents opportunity, progress, and flourishing success.

Built around the themes of foundation, growth, and transformation, “Grassroots” tells the story of what can happen when culture, community, and perseverance intersect. Each pair is individually numbered out of 1,248, representing the number of players who will compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, further emphasizing the project’s theme of global connection.

To further bring this concept to life, the retailer independently worked with 26 creators to create a series of collectibles across three product tiers, nodding to the 26 player roster and the idea that every individual contributes a unique story to a larger collective journey.

“At The Better Generation, we’re always looking for ways to create meaningful connections within our community,” said Brandon Davis, Owner of The Better Generation. “This collaboration with adidas and Andu reflects a shared belief in the power of culture to bring people together. For us, it’s less about a product and more about celebrating the people, relationships, and creative energy that continue to move Houston forward.”

“‘Grassroots’ is about connection,” said Andu. “It’s about recognizing that no matter where you’re from, growth starts with a foundation. Every city, every culture, and every community has its own story. Houston’s spirit of building from the ground up was a huge inspiration for this project, and I wanted to create something that reflects both that local energy and the global connections that bring people together.”

The Better Generation x adidas “Grassroots” Predator Sala will release exclusively through The Better Generation retail locations and online at https://shopbetter.com/ on June 20th, priced between $135-$299.

Sole Savy is unreal! With a busy schedule it’s hard to keep up on shoes, and the group keeps me up to date on releases, tips on how to manually cop, and a marketplace with killer deals from fellow like minded collectors. It’s changed the sneaker game for me!

@SoleSavy is the truth. They've helped me cop kicks I never would've imagined getting at retail. Members always willing to assist on drops too. And most of all, a REAL community of REAL sneakerheads. These guys should be the gold standard for sneaker communities! #LifetimeMember

My membership paid for itself three fold by being solely responsible for my union 4’s, mesh sacai waffles, sacai blazers, court purple aj1s, glow in the dark yeezy 350s, travis scott lows (which I traded to get desert ore ow’s), air max 1 londons, bc3’s for way under retail etc.

Can't say enough about SS. The stellar help with copping shoes is a given but it's the community that makes it extra special. Hands down one of the best decisions I made as a wannabe sneakerhead.

The community of sneakerheads and resources available to help manually cop are great and really will help you get more Ws. The Zoom calls for hyped drops like Union Jordan 4 only adds to the camaraderie while providing real time instruction
