The latest sneaker to make up the Rare Air series is the most anticipated pair- so far.

Earlier this year, Jordan Brand introduced the Rare Air line into the already healthy line of sneaker stories the brand holds in high regard. The series pays homage to the long sampling process sneakers go through before officially hitting shelves. Oftentimes, material, color details, and accents are changed to create a different sneaker than the one originally envisioned. Other times, mistakes, like incorrect logo placements, would lead to having to redo a sample altogether. As a result, when these “rare” samples surface online, the sneakers are sought after and coveted by sneakerheads around the world.

A duo of Air Jordan 1 Highs kicked off the line in April. Then, in late May, the series continued with the Air Jordan 3 Rare Air. Now in July, the latest sneaker to join the Rare Air roster is another classic Jordan Brand model, the Air Jordan 4.

The Air Jordan 4 has earned a reputation of being the most beloved of Air Jordan models. Though the previous two sneakers would make part of the Rare Air Infinity Gauntlet, the Air Jordan 4 has become essentially the flagship model for Jordan Brand.

The Rare Air AJ4 takes the colorway of the Air Jordan 3- tastefully adding it to the Air Jordan 4. The sneaker features the classic black nubuck that has become so synonimous with the Air Jordan 4- as well as the hits of cement grey and fire red. The hits of blue and off-white break up the familiarity, if only for a bit. The Rare Air Jordan 4 features tongue patches reminiscent of the soon returning UNDFTD 4, as well.

Interestingly, it is being reported that the tongue patches, which remove to reveal a message, will feature a chance at a highly illusive rendition of the sneaker. As just about 2% of the pairs releasing will reveal a message in gold lettering- pictured below.

The Air Jordan 4 Rare Air launches this Saturday, July 26th, via SNKRS and participating Jordan Brand accounts- including Dicks Sporting Goods.

Sole Savy is unreal! With a busy schedule it’s hard to keep up on shoes, and the group keeps me up to date on releases, tips on how to manually cop, and a marketplace with killer deals from fellow like minded collectors. It’s changed the sneaker game for me!

@SoleSavy is the truth. They've helped me cop kicks I never would've imagined getting at retail. Members always willing to assist on drops too. And most of all, a REAL community of REAL sneakerheads. These guys should be the gold standard for sneaker communities! #LifetimeMember

My membership paid for itself three fold by being solely responsible for my union 4’s, mesh sacai waffles, sacai blazers, court purple aj1s, glow in the dark yeezy 350s, travis scott lows (which I traded to get desert ore ow’s), air max 1 londons, bc3’s for way under retail etc.

Can't say enough about SS. The stellar help with copping shoes is a given but it's the community that makes it extra special. Hands down one of the best decisions I made as a wannabe sneakerhead.

The community of sneakerheads and resources available to help manually cop are great and really will help you get more Ws. The Zoom calls for hyped drops like Union Jordan 4 only adds to the camaraderie while providing real time instruction
