The Bay Area native has spent decades building a strong catalog in music. Now he’s doing the same in the world of sneakers.
In only his second footwear collaboration with the three stripes, Larry June is giving us a Control 5 that is as smooth as the rapper on wax. Following an exclusive Friends & Family edition introduced in February, the latest adidas Adistar Control 5 brings Larry June’s unmistakable perspective to the heritage silhouette through a fresh color story inspired by one of his signature rituals: the art of making a smoothie.

Set in a bright, lived-in kitchen, the campaign follows June as he prepares a watermelon smoothie, with the familiar process taking an unexpected turn as the ingredients become a visual cue for the new footwear. The result is an intentionally imperfect, unfiltered expression of the collaboration, rooted in adidas heritage while staying true to Larry’s world. Inside and outside of music, Larry June’s approach is methodical, and it translates perfectly onto the Adistar Control 5.
His “Watermelon Smoothie” sneaker pairs an open white mesh base with layered tonal overlays and a vibrant gradient that moves through Semi Lucid Red, Semi Solar Slime, and Clay colorways, creating a color palette that feels both refreshing and distinctly Larry. The collaboration is finished with signature Larry June branding, reinforcing the personal connection between artist and silhouette.
The model is the perfect canvas for Larry’s first retail footwear collaboration with adidas. Originally rooted in performance heritage, the Adistar Control 5 has found a new life as a lifestyle staple. For Larry June, the silhouette offers a natural extension of his approach to style: nostalgic, considered, and never overworked. Like June, the silhouette has put in the work for years, and now it is enjoying the fruits of its labor.

“I’ve always been drawn to health and wellness because they’re a natural part of my everyday routine, and I like putting my own spin on it. I wanted this colorway to feel the same way: fresh, natural, and true to my world. The Adistar Control 5 has that vintage adidas feel, and bringing my own colors and details to it made the collaboration feel really personal,” said Larry June.
After selling out quickly via Larry June’s website, fans will have a new opportunity to purchase the sneaker this weekend. The adidas Originals Adistar Control 5 “Watermelon Smoothie” will be available on September 12, 2026, via adidas.com and select retailers, in unisex sizing at $160.
