When New Balance debuted the ABZORB 2000, it became abundantly clear that the brand had huge plans for the runner.
The debut colorway, along with its Y2K-inspired design, launched at a perfect time. Now, more than ever, fans are craving a bit of the past. While we all cope with feeling nostalgic for the era that raised us, New Balance has delivered a sneaker that is becoming a canvas for their creative expression.
When Joe Freshgoods rolled out a hyper-exclusive all-over-pink pair in January of 2025, the era of the ABZORB 2000 took off. Since then, New Balance has been hard at work delivering sharp colorways of the sneaker to please all tastes.

Portland rapper Amine’s library inspired ABZORB 2000, which arrived in the fall, proving that the MC’s palette perfectly fit the retro-future design of the sneaker. This month, New Balance doubled down. The Liquid Metal pack further pushed the aesthetic of the sneaker forward.
The Charlotte Lee-designed sneaker made the ABZORB 2000 visually capture the aesthetic of metal, as the curvatures on the sneaker melted onto the upper. This GR pack showed the range of the sneaker and prepared early adopters for the biggest surprise yet.

Quadro Creations’ neck-breaking rendition of the ABZORB 2000 surfaced yesterday when the pairs appeared during their Fall/Winter 2026 fashion show. The Brazilian label’s take on the 2000 completely redesigns the upper into a sleeker design. Naturally, a Brazilian label had to create a colorway inspired by their native colors. Fans who prefer more muted colorways shouldn’t fret, though, as the label also revealed a colorway that will surely be easier to wear.
If Quadro Creations’ upcoming collaboration shows us anything, it’s that the ABZORB 2000 has so much potential that is yet to be untapped. The signature ABZORB midsole has become a fan favorite because of its comfort and response. Moreover, the outsole has served as a place to start for the sneaker’s apparently limitless upper potential.
Surely, more New Balance collaborators will get their hands on the model that is rapidly gaining stock within New Balance’s portfolio. For now, you can explore the latest New Balance ABZORB 2000 styles via Foot Locker.
