JJJJound is giving the people what they want.
After teasing the project last week, JJJJound has officially announced their upcoming collaboration on the New Balance 990v4. Though the brands have previously connected on the 990v4, this upcoming iteration will release in the popular ‘Mushroom’ colorway JJJJound is so known for.
The biggest surprise from this collaboration, though, is that the sneaker will drop via a pre-order window. JJJJound has announced that beginning on December 12th, a pre-order window will open for their 990v4 collaboration.
“This JJJJound New Balance 990v4 release follows a made-to-order model. Pre-sale takes place well ahead of production, ensuring each pair is produced for the customer who secures a reservation, allowing more people the opportunity to purchase this special edition release, while supplies last,” shared the brand.
The pairs from the release are expected to have a Fall 2026 delivery window. Fans of one of the most beloved New Balance partnerships will have to practice a bit of patience. That said, the Canadian imprint promises periodic updates on the status of the pre-orders throughout 2026.
The Mushroom colorway has become JJJJound’s signature colorway. First introduced in 2018 on the 990v3, the ‘Mushroom’ colorway has become a staple among JJJJound and New Balance colorways. In fact, they are among the most coveted of JJJJound sneaker projects.
JJJJound’s pre-order window will allow fans a unique chance to reserve a piece of the iconic colorway without major stress. Time will tell if this release strategy will continue for future JJJJound and New Balance collaborations.
The reservation window for the JJJJound x New Balance 990v4 opens on December 12th at 9 AM EST.
